About Delano M. Lantz & Associates
Del practices in almost all areas of civil litigation. He founded his own firm after spending a career in litigation at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from 1975 until his retirement in December 2008. His experience includes business and commercial disputes, insurance law (including bad faith and coverage issues), negligence, products liability, construction law, real estate, contracts, trust and estate disputes and family law. He has extensive experience handling complex litigation in all of these areas. He continues to utilize the broad experience gained from his 33 years of service in the Litigation Group at McNees Wallace & Nurick and in his current practice representing a broad range of clients.
Del has represented a broad range of clients in jury and non-jury trials. He has tried many cases to a jury verdict and final decisions before judges and masters in various contexts.
He has extensive appellate experience. He has briefed and argued numerous cases in appellate courts in Pennsylvania and the federal courts.
Del has extensive mediation experience, including service as a mediator. Since 2007, he has served as a certified mediator on the Pro Bono Mediation Panel of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Del graduated from the Dickinson School of Law, magna cum laude, and ranked first in his class. Before attending law school, he served four years in the U.S. Air Force and obtained the rank of captain.
During his career at McNees Wallace & Nurick, he served on the Management Committee, founded the Family Law Practice Group, served on the Insurance Litigation and Counseling Group, the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Group and other groups. He initiated the firm’s membership in ALFA International (a global legal network) in 1998 and served as the contact partner for the firm until his retirement. He served on the ALFA Board of Directors for two years.
Del has served as an Adjunct Professor of Advocacy at the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University from 1997 to 2014.
Del is actively involved in pro bono activities for the Cumberland County Bar Association. He also participates in the pro bono mediation program for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
